Gauteng’s three Reddam House schools achieve 100% IEB pass rate and 449 distinctions


Reddam House Gauteng’s three schools, which are part of the international Inspired Education Group, have delivered excellent matric results in the Independent Examinations Board (IEB) national exams, with three students from Reddam House Bedfordview notching up nine distinctions each, a 100% pass rate, and a total of 449 distinctions achieved by 214 matriculants from Reddam House Bedfordview, Reddam House Waterfall, and Reddam House Helderfontein.


The three ‘nine distinction’ achievers from Reddam House Bedfordview are Rushir Komal, Nabila Patel and Jaime Rademeyer.


Reddam House Bedfordview’s Class of 2022 achieved a 72,16% average pass mark, and 267 distinctions at an average of 2,24 distinctions per students, which is the second highest across the group’s eight schools in South Africa. Four Reddam House Bedfordview students - Nabila Patel, Rushir Komal, Jaime Rademeyer and Shayna Smith - achieved the significant recognition of inclusion on the IEB’s Commendable Achievement List for achieving a national ranking within the top 5% in five subjects. Jaime Rademeyer and Nabila Patel were ranked in the top 1% of all IEB students nationally in seven subjects, while Shayna Smith from Reddam House Bedfordview achieved a 1% ranking in four subjects.


Reddam House Waterfall in Midrand achieved an overall average of 72% and 131 distinctions, representing 2,18 per student – with two students achieving seven distinctions each. They are Jody van Zijl and Sohail Dharamlall.


Reddam House Helderfontein’s results show a steady improvement, having achieved its highest average since its first cohort of matrics in 2020, with 67,18%.


Reddam House Helderfontein’s Dux scholar, Kerryn Leonard, was listed on the IEB’s Commendable Achievement List for achieving a national ranking within the top 5% in five subjects. She attained seven distinctions and was awarded R10 000 towards her studies by University of Pretoria, where she will study mechanical engineering. Kerryn has attended Reddam House Helderfontein since it opened in 2017. She has achieved academic honours for three years in a row, and a Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Advanced ballet award and full dance colours. She is also passionate about conservation, and plans to use her studies towards green energy and wildlife conservation in South Africa.

National results at Reddam House schools


Nationally, Reddam House South Africa’s Class of 2022 achieved a 100% pass rate in the IEB exams across their eight schools located in three provinces (Western Cape, Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal), and earned 1 061 subject distinctions between 448 students, averaging out at 2,36 per student, and up from 940 distinctions by the Class of 2021. Nine students each achieved a masterful nine distinctions – three in Bedfordview, Gauteng; three in Constantia, Western Cape; and three in Umhlanga, KwaZulu-Natal, and an impressive 86 students achieved five and more distinctions.


IEB rankings


Reddam House students obtained a total 68 rankings in the top 1% and 264 rankings in the top 5% of IEB candidates per subject nationally.
